
The Belgian hotel, rent fish for lonely guests – A hotel in Belgium attracts attention by offering fish rental to lonely guests with the cost of €3.50/night. Hotel Charleroi Airport in Gosselies, near Brussels South Cherleroi Airport is a four star hotel with room rates for start of £69 per night.
Fish friends program is attracting the attention of the internet when radio producer Michelle Cook tweeted Aquarium photo upload with the inscription: “My friend is staying in a hotel in Belgium. They’ve offered her the option of renting a fish for the night, in case she’s lonely.”

The Tweet have already retweeted more than 10,000 times with varying comment. There are enthusiastic and stated will rent a fish, there are also upset because the assumed rent animals are inappropriate actions and questioned the size of the bowl of the Aquarium.

Hotel manager David Dillen told The Independent that the fish has been ongoing rental services for several years and is popular among guests.
“We started a few years ago. The idea was to surprise our guests, as we always try to do.”
“It’s brilliant to see how people react to it. They smile, they take pictures to put on social media. We rent a few fish per week.”
He also assured the lovers of animals that every fish is well cared for. “I can also tell you that we take very good care of our fish; they have been with us for over four years now, so if they were not taken care of they would have died a long time ago.”
He added, they also have a large aquarium in Department housekeeping complete with shelter, oxygen and water plants. When needed, we will put a fish in there for a few days.
