Mexico has a rich history. Before the arrival of Columbus in the Americas, the land was inhabited by the Maya. They live a life similar to Native American Indians. As for belief systems adopted by the Maya at that time was polytheism in the form of worship to the gods.

In the early 1500 ‘s, the Conqueror of Spain comes to plundering natural resources in Mexico that is among them in the form of gold and other mining items. One of the most famous was the Conqueror Hernan Cortez (1485 – 1547). With a shrewd ploy, he cheated the people and claim to be the Aztec God of the native American community to confuse them.

During 300 years of the reign of Spain in Mexico, the colonizers ruled all the wealth and political power. Meanwhile, the indigenous people are not given the choice but subject to the domination of the white nation. If they don’t want to submit to, they would face death.
After surviving under the looting and conquest of Spain for many centuries, people of Mexico finally revolted. The country then declared independence in the early 1900 ‘s.
Today, Mexico was inhabited more than 90 million people. Most of them embraced Catholicism introduced by Spain during the era of the conquest. Even so, Mexico is now the community of thought began to open to the existence of other religions, including Islam.
